Out of my vast kindle library repertoire I really don’t have any western romances on there. Now it’s not to say that I don’t like them or it isn’t in my usually genre I read I don’t really have a particular genre since I pretty much read everything. This book just intrigued me making me select it for the kindle scout program and I am glad that I selected it because it really is quite good! The book had a pretty exciting plot with crazy twists, wonderful major/minor characters that I really want to know more about and quite knowledgeable facts about the rodeo lifestyle that kept me entrenched and interested in the story.Mandy Prescott’s world has been turned upside down after losing her beloved grandfather she is about to lose her rodeo company to Ty Martin a guy she hasn’t seen in ten years a guy who broke her heart and is now going to take away Mandy’s lifeblood. Unfortunately for Mandy and Ty in her grandfather’s will is a clause to solve both their dilemmas for both Mandy and Ty to get married for six months. Can both Mandy and Ty survive the six month wedding, being business partners and not fall in love in the process in order to walk away after six months with their heads and hearts intact?

In the beginning I was pretty apprehensive of liking Ty I don’t like lawyers and I was thinking he was going to be underhanded stealing Mandy’s company underneath her nose. Yes he did have feelings for her in the past but I think he seemed a little too upset with her then again I did have a hard time understanding his motivations. I was also drooling about what I kept imagining him to look like. I admired Mandy for holding out as long as she did because that is a very hard thing to resist not doing anything to a hot naked guy in bed. I did like the slow progression of Mandy and Ty’s love though. For some reason I really liked Mandy and wanted to get together with her at the café telling her everything was going to be okay. She just seemed like such a cool person and had some wonderful friends too. I did wonder what happened to Kendall though. I was shocked a little by her behavior and that she wasn’t going to do anything to Mandy but maybe it was just all about sex with her. I also hope that Trace and Tucker finds someone but it seems as if Ms. Carrole did make mention of that so maybe we aren’t entirely done with the rest of characters stories. I do know that she is an author that I will have to look for plus that I most definitely have to add and will have to get more of her books too!

Although not unique, I liked how the grandfather planned to get Mandy and Ty together and teach them was "success" should mean to the both of them. What I didn't like is that so much of the beginning of the book kept talking about how Mandy's grandfather could leave the will that he did, and that Ty was constantly trying to get Mandy in his bed. Romance or not, I would have liked a little more between them than that. But, hard-core romance lovers will enjoy it nonetheless.
Ms. Carole reminds us that our community shapes who and what we become in life. Ty, the Maverick, comes from an isolated community of his family. Mandy, his match, comes from a family rich in interaction among themselves, and rich in extended community with friends, neighbors, and employees. Well written, good plotting, and likable characters make this worth the reading time.
Due to the stipulations in her grandfather's will, Mandy is forced to marry Ty, a man who rejected her many years ago. Because Ty is given the power to sell her family's rodeo business, Mandy doesn't trust him, but there is an undeniable chemistry between them. The situation creates conflict as well as uncertainty. It's a great setup and Ms. Carrole packs it with emotion. A wonderful story!
This is book two in the series that I read by Anne Carrole. It was a good book with a very good story. I enjoyed the way the author slowly developed the two main characters (Mandy and Ty) after they were throw together so early in the book. I did care for some of the parts of the animals and rodeo as much as other books. Kind of confusing is you don't know much about that topic.
Loved the Maverick, Ty. He was straight forward with his intentions toward Mandy. In the end, "the bad boy" had a heart. Every woman's dream. I deducted a star for too much erotica. The story was good enough to make it without added enticement.
Liked how Mandy and Ty came together over the years and how he had to tolerate her 'attitude'. Loved the story line, characters--just wish how fast the sex started would have held out more and in my personal opinion (and I'm not a prude) but the sex appeared a bit in the area of violent and not actual romantic.
This is the second of four books. But the first I have read in this series. Theirs was not a new relationship. They knew each other ten years ago. But he left to finish college and law school. They reconnected after her grandfather died. She and her family run a rodeo business. They supply the bulls and horses needed. But along the way there are complications. She and he either marry for six months or he is in charge of the business with options to sell it in two years. Stuck between a rock and a hard place she married him. But what happens when they find out that the chemistry between them was still there? And who has the most to gain or lose in this case?
